National champion in 800 meters at 1998 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships … Bolting down the stretch at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville facility, Janke edged out North Central Conference rival Ossie Mdziniso of Augustana (S.D.) by five-hundredths of a second – 1:48.51 to 1:48.56 – to earn first place and break his own school record by 1.51-seconds … Mdziniso had defeated him at the conference meet a few weeks earlier … Four-time NCAA Division II All-American … Recipient of 1998 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship … Placed third in 800 meters at 1998 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships and fifth in 800 at 1997 NCAA Indoor … Two-time North Central Conference Indoor Track & Field champion in the mile in 1996 and 1997 … Member of three NCC Indoor championship 3,200 meter relay teams in 1996, 1997 and 1998 … 1998 NCC Outdoor Track & Field 1,500 meter champion … Member of NCC Outdoor championship 1,600 meter relay teams in 1997 and 1998 … Major contributor on four North Central Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship teams and two NCC Indoor title teams … Academic all-NCC performer in 1999 … Earned Academic All-American honors in cross country … Held both indoor and outdoor 800 meter school records from 1998 to 2011 … Indoors, ranks in top 10 in 800 meters (1:50.21 at Iowa State, 1998), mile (4:09.41, Husker Invite, 1998), 1600 meter relay (1988 NCAA), 3200 relay (7:47.57, Bison Classic, top 1 of 3) … Outdoors, ranks top 10 in 800 meters (1:48.51, 1998 NCAA), 1500 meters (3:50.84, 1998 NCC), sprint medley relay (3:26.62, 1998 Sioux City Relays) and distance medley relay (10:00.82, 1997 Drake Relays) … Graduated from Madison High School in South Dakota in 1994, same school that produced legendary NDSU men's track and field coach Don Larson … He was an eight-time South Dakota state track and field champion and two-time South Dakota state cross-country champion for Madison … Graduated from the University of North Dakota Law School with Juris Doctorate … Attorney with Boyce, Greenfield, Pashby and Welk LLP in Sioux Falls, S.D., from 2002-04 … Worked as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Kansas City, Mo., (2004-08) and San Antonio, Texas, field offices (2008-11) … Elevated to supervisory special agent in 2011, assigned to FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. (2011-12) … Currently, serves as supervisory special agent at Kansas City field office, where he supervises the public corruption and civil rights squad … Married to former NDSU women's basketball player Brenna Stefonowicz, who was a member of NDSU's 1996 Division II national championship team … Heith and Brenna have a son, Max, and a daughter, Reese.
