Perhaps the most accurate kicker in North Dakota State football history, Blazei established an NCAA record by making 50 of 50 extra points in the 1968 national championship season his senior year. He held NDSU records for career extra points (112) and extra-point attempts (119) for nearly 20 years. He kicked just five field goals in his career but no field goal in NDSU history was bigger than his 29-yarder in the final seconds of an 18-15 win over North Dakota to secure the victory in 1966. Blazei also played defensive end for the Bison.
