Terrance McGee
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Terrance McGee joined the NDSU men's basketball program as an assistant coach in May 2026.
McGee came to NDSU from Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Ill., where he served as head coach at the junior college for three seasons from 2023-26.
“We are delighted to welcome the McGees to our Bison Basketball family,” Richman said. “Coach McGee’s integrity, passion for the student-athletes he’s developed, and eagerness to continue to learn stood out to us in the process. His experiences at the D-I level – both as a player and a coach – along with his most recent experiences as a head junior college coach, will continue to help impact our program as we strive towards better.”
McGee started his coaching career with two seasons as an assistant at Grand Valley State. He moved on to five seasons as an assistant at Southern Illinois, followed by five seasons at Milwaukee, and one year at SIU-Edwardsville.
“My family and I are truly grateful for the opportunity to join a program with such a rich tradition and proven track record of success,” said McGee. “North Dakota State represents everything we value – a supportive community, a commitment to academic success, and a dedication to developing players not just on the court, but into young men. We’re excited and honored to become part of the Bison Family.”
A native of Milwaukee, Wis., McGee was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection as a player at Missouri State from 2001-03. Following his college career, he played professionally overseas for seven years.
He and his wife, Quianna, have two sons, Jaylen and Noah.
