NDSU Women’s Cross Country Targets 8th Consecutive Title at UND Saturday

The North Dakota State women's cross country team will go after its eighth consecutive UND Ron Pynn Classic team championship on Saturday afternoon in Grand Forks.
The women's five-kilometer race is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Ray Richards Golf Course, followed by the men's 8k race at 1:15 p.m.
The Bison women have taken first place as a team every season since 2012, including perfect scores in two of the past four years. NDSU had the top three finishers in the race last year, with Kelby Anderson winning the individual crown for the second time in a row. Anderson finished in 17:20.0 for the fifth-fastest 5k in NDSU cross country history, and the second-fastest in the school's Division I era.
Bison junior Jen Dufner took runner-up honors last season as a sophomore.
Senior Alaysia Freetly, junior Brynnan Covington, and sophomore Mikayla Koenig have consistently finished in NDSU's top five along with Anderson and Dufner this season.
Saturday's meet will serve as the final tune-up for the Summit League Championships, which will be held on Nov. 2 at Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo.
