FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State junior Kelby Anderson finished fifth at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday morning, running the 10th-fastest six-kilometer race in Bison cross country history.
Anderson finished in 21:03.7 for the 6k course – 28 seconds faster than her time at the Griak last season.
The Bison women finished seventh out of 15 teams in the meet. Junior Jen Dufner was the No. 2 runner for the Bison, taking 48th place in 22:42.6. Junior Brynnan Covington was 57th in 22:51.4, and sophomore Mikayla Koenig placed 68th with a time of 23:06.8.
Freshman Kaleesa Houston completed the team scoring as NDSU's No. 5 runner, taking 70th place in 23:09.5 for her first collegiate 6k.
Anderson's time is the 10th-fastest 6k in NDSU cross country history. She now owns four of the school's Top 10 times, and former NCAA All-American and Olympian Erin Teschuk has the other six.
California Baptist won the women's team title with 60 points, and Columbia was the runner-up with 78.
The Bison will race next at the UND Ron Pynn Classic in Grand Forks on Oct. 19.
