Bison Cross Country Races Friday at NCAA Midwest Regional
11/11/2025 2:54:00 PM | Men's Cross Country
The North Dakota State men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday, Nov. 14.
Due to predicted high temperatures in Stillwater, the meet has been moved up 90 minutes from the originally scheduled start times at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course. The women's 6k will now start at 9 a.m. CT, with the men's 10k starting at 10 a.m.
The meet will feature runners from nearly 40 teams spanning nine states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota).
A total of 32 teams nationally will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo., on Nov. 22. The top two teams at each of the nine regional meets automatically qualify, leaving 14 at-large team bids. Individually, 38 additional athletes per gender will qualify, with the top four runners at each regional not on a qualifying team being automatically selected.
The Bison women own a top regional finish of seventh place as a team in 2012. Last season, Reagan Baesler posted NDSU's fifth-best individual finish ever at the NCAA Midwest Regional, taking 12th place overall.
NDSU's highest previous finish in the men's team race at the NCAA Midwest Regional was 13th place in 2010. The Bison men took 16th last season – their best team performance since 2014.
