NDSU Soccer Closes Home Stand With Omaha on Sunday

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State will wrap up the four-game home stand, as the Bison welcome in Omaha on Sunday, October 11. NDSU will take on the Mavericks in the only regular season meeting between the two teams this year, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. at Dacotah Field.

Admission & Parking
Admission to all NDSU soccer home matches is free. Parking is available in Lot R west of Dacotah Field after 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays and all day on Sunday. Additional parking is available in Fargodome lots C and D.
Series History
The Bison face Omaha for the 22nd time in series history on Sunday, with the Bison holding a slight edge in the series, 10-8-3. While NDSU holds a two-game lead in the series, Omaha is undefeated in the last five match ups against NDSU, recording three wins and two ties, including a 1-0 victory last season, which was also in Fargo. NDSU is 8-4-1 against the Mavericks at home, but the last win came in February of 2021 during the Covid Spring Season.
Last Season vs. Omaha
NDSU fell in the Summit League opener to Omaha at Dacotah Field, dropping a 1-0 decision. The only goal came in the 53rd minute when Lindsey Birch scored off of an Omaha corner, redirecting a header from Presley Douglas off of Charley Kort's corner kick.
The Bison dominated early and nearly took the lead in the opening minute of the game, as Morgan Russmann's shot hit the outside of the post.
Omaha would have the next two big chances, as Hannah Stipp pushed a shot over in the 20th minute for her first of three saves. Stipp would deny another shot off of an Omaha corner just 45 seconds later.
Overall, the Bison finished with eight shots while holding nearly 44 percent of possession against the Mavericks, who finished with nine shots. Both teams had four shots on target in the game. Omaha had seven corner kicks in the game to none for NDSU.
Looking Ahead
North Dakota State will hit the road next week, traveling south to Tulsa to begin a two-game road swing beginning with a game against Oral Roberts Thursday, October 15. The Bison and Golden Eagles are set to get underway at 6 p.m. at the Case Soccer Complex.
