Renschler Shatters 200m Records to Start Summit League Championships

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State sophomore Paige Renschler posted a record-breaking performance on Thursday to lead the Bison women's track & field team on the opening day of the Summit League Outdoor Championships.
Renschler blazed to a new school record, facility record, and meet record in the 200m prelims, clocking 22.98. Anika Larson was the second-fastest qualifier to the 200m dash final, clocking a personal-best 23.37 in the prelims. Elise Wisnewski advanced in 23.70.
Grace VanErp was the Summit League runner-up in the long jump, posting a personal-best 19-11.50 (6.08m) to tie for ninth in NDSU outdoor history. Ella Gardner took fourth with a jump of 19-05.25 (5.92m).
Ashley Stewart placed fourth in the hammer throw, throwing a personal-best 184-4 (56.18m). Adison Kapitzke was fifth at 177-4 (54.06m).
Yolanda Nabwe stands in second place in the Summit League heptathlon after Day 1, scoring 3,130 points.
Kendal Stingle (59.94) and Kate Laqua (1:01.58) both advanced to the 400m hurdles final.
Several events were delayed Thursday due to high winds, and the javelin competition was pushed back to Saturday.
Day 2 of the Summit League Championships will continue Friday at the Terrence Dahl and Donna Beres Track Complex.
