Rypkema’s Title Leads NDSU Women to Win at Marauders Opener

BISMARCK, N.D. – Jade Rypkema won the individual title and the North Dakota State women's cross country team captured the team title at the UMary Marauders Opener on Friday afternoon at McDowell Dam Recreation Area.
The Bison scored 19 points to win the seven-team meet. NDSU placed 1-3-4-5-6 and posted 11 of the top 13 finishers in the women's six-kilometer race.
Rypkema (Nevis, Minn.) won the individual title in 21:26.6 in her first cross country race for the Bison after transferring from Gonzaga at the beginning of 2026. Logan Harz finished third overall in 21:41.1, followed by Reagan Berg in fourth at 21:53.9.
Kylie Nelson placed fifth in 22:13.8, and freshman Hannah Boese was sixth in 22:18.7 for her collegiate debut to complete NDSU's team scoring.
NDSU's Madison LeSage took eighth, Kasey Soderholm was ninth, and Julia Link added a 10th-place finish.
Alyson Kleyman (11th), Mia Hoffmann (12th) and Acey Elkins (13th) rounded out the dominant showing by the Bison women.
The Bison will compete next on Friday, Sept. 18, at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational.
