NDSU Men’s Golf in Second After Day One of ANF Fall Classic

RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Despite play being suspended near the end of the second round, the North Dakota State men's golf team opened its season at the America Needs Farmers Fall Classic on Tuesday, wrapping up day one in second place.
Carter White (73) led the charge for the Bison, rocketing up the leaderboard in the second round. White has fired eight birdies in the second round currently, with just hole eight left to play. He currently sits in a tie for third place at -6.
First-year golfer Peyton Albers (70) started his collegiate career strong, collecting five birdies en route to an opening round 70. Albers sits at -3 overall and in a tie for 11th, one of five Bison golfers in the top 20. He currently sits at -1 in the second round, with two holes left to play
Sean Moore (71-73), Andrew Ballou (66) and Henry Johnson (74) are all tied for 18th at even-par overall. Moore carded four birdies in his opening round 71 and eagled hole 17 in his second round, a 360-yard par 4. Ballou grabbed seven birdies on his way to a 66 in round one, tying his career low. Johnson recovered from a rocky start in his collegiate tournament, going three-under over his final 12 holes in round one. He grabbed back-to-back birdies on holes 2 and 3 in round two, currently sitting at two-under with one hole left to play in the second round.
Elias Ekern (74) rounded out the group for the Bison, finishing in a tie for 33rd at +4. Ekern grabbed 23 pars over 35 holes on the day.
The Bison currently sit at -13, second in the tournament. They are four strokes back of first place South Dakota and eight strokes ahead of third place Western Kentucky.
The Bison will conclude their opening campaign on Wednesday, resuming the second round before embarking on the final round of the tournament afterwards.
