NDSU Women’s Golf Leads After Day One at NDSU Fall Invitational

OXBOW, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's golf team wrapped day one of the NDSU Fall Invitational at Oxbow Country Club in first place, finishing with three golfers inside the top five.
The Bison sit in first place by five strokes, with a combined score of +11 overall. Second place North Dakota sits at +16, and South Dakota wraps up the field at +21.
Norah Roberts (71) and Emma Fitzmorris (71) paced the Bison, both finishing the first round at -1 and in a tie for first. Roberts carded three birdies on the first seven holes to shoot a 33 on the front nine, the lowest of any golfer in the tournament. Fitzmorris competed as an individual and parred 10 of her last 12 holes, closing out the round at even par on the back nine.
Avery Bartels (73) ended the day in solo fourth, the third Bison in the top five. She collected three birdies on the front nine, finishing the round at +1.
Jeri Lafleche (76) closed the day in a tie for seventh, firing a 37 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine.
Bella Leonhart (79) and Lauren Chambs (79) both fired rounds of +7, finishing in a tie for 14th. Hannah Dunk (80) carded 12 pars on the way to a +8. Belle Kongshaug (82) ended her first collegiate tournament with ten pars, firing a 39 on the front nine.

The Bison return to action tomorrow morning for the final 18 at Oxbow Country Club. Tee times will begin at 9:10 a.m.
