Andy Young joined the North Dakota State baseball staff in June 2026 as an assisant coach.
Young was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2016 MLB Draft before going on to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2020-21. He made his MLB debut on August 1, 2020 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Young also went on to sign with the Washington Nationals after the 2021 season.
Young is a native a West Fargo, N.D., and attended West Fargo High School where he was named the North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year in 2012. After starting his college career at Jamestown and Neosho Community College, he played two seasons at Indiana State and was a Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Honorable Mention in 2015 and MVC All-Conference Third Team selection in 2016.
Young joined the staff after spending the 2025 season assisting with the Concordia-Moorhead baseball program.
