Women’s Basketball 2013-14 Summit League Schedule Announced

Double round-robin slate begins Thursday, Jan. 9
ELMHURST, Ill.–-The Summit League announced its 2013-14 women's basketball schedule today. Each of the eight teams will play a 14-game double round-robin schedule beginning Thursday, Jan. 9.
Thursday/Saturday games are scheduled for eight weeks, with each team playing either a home or road contest against its travel partner on two of those weeks.
North Dakota State opens with Fort Wayne on Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Bison Sports Arena.
South Dakota State, five-time tournament champions, begins its quest for its six-straight title against regular season runner-up IUPUI in Brookings on Jan. 9. Also on opening weekend, league newcomer Denver battles tournament runner-up South Dakota in Vermillion on Jan. 11.
The first rematch of the 2013 Summit League Basketball Championship Game takes place Feb. 2, when South Dakota State hosts in-state rival South Dakota. The Jackrabbits and Coyotes will meet in Vermillion for both teams' final regular season contest on March 1.
In addition to the USD-SDSU game in Vermillion, the other pairings for the final day of the regular season are: North Dakota State at Denver, Omaha at Fort Wayne and Western Illinois at IUPUI.
The 2014 Summit League Women's Basketball Championship is set for March 8-11 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
