NDSU Soccer Hosts South Dakota State for Homecoming on Saturday

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State soccer remains at home this week, as the Bison welcome in South Dakota State for homecoming on Saturday, October 3. NDSU will take on the Jackrabbits in the first of two matches this season, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Dacotah Field.
Admission & Parking
Admission to all NDSU soccer home matches is free. Parking is available in Lot R west of Dacotah Field and in Fargodome lots C and D. Due to the NDSU Football game at the Fargodome and potential congestion, additional parking is available south of Dacotah Field in the RF lot.

Series History
The Bison face South Dakota State for the 34th time in series history. NDSU trails in the series with a 12-18-3 record against the Jackrabbits. The Bison won the last meeting in Fargo between the two teams, 1-0 on October 17, 2024. NDSU is 8-5 all-time at home against SDSU.
Last Season vs. South Dakota State
NDSU fell to SDSU 2-0 in Brookings. Jenna Maloy scored both goals for the Jackrabbits, first in the 33rd minute, before sealing the win in the 81st.
NDSU created several scoring chances with the best coming in the 78th minute when Morgan Russmann's header was denied by Mallorie Benhart. Payton Mulberry finished with seven saves in the contest.
Russmann Continues Climb up Charts
With her 22nd career goal in the win vs. South Dakota, Morgan Russmann moved into fourth in the Division I era, and a tie for ninth overall all-time in goals at NDSU, matching Caitlin Schultz (2000-03).
Russmann is also ninth in the Division I era in assists (11) and tied for seventh all-time in game-winning goals (7).
Mulberry Sets Career High in Saves
Payton Mulberry made 11 saves against South Dakota, setting a new career high for the fifth-year keeper. Mulberry is now within six of Tara Sweeney (135) for eighth all-time on the NDSU saves list.
Looking Ahead
North Dakota State will continue a four-game home stand next week, as the Bison begin cross-pool play by welcoming in St. Thomas on Thursday, October 8. NDSU will take on the Tommies in the only regular-season meeting between the two teams this year, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. at Dacotah Field.
