NDSU Men’s Golf in Ninth After Day One of Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The North Dakota State men's golf team sits in ninth place after day one of the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Bison (290) are currently two shots over par and 12 strokes back of first-place Green Bay (278). Western Kentucky (280) is in second at -8 and Southern Miss (281) is in third at -7.
Peyton Albers (68) led the charge for NDSU at -4 overall, carding seven birdies on his way to a tie for sixth. Albers started the day with four birdies over his first six holes en route to a front nine score of 34. He grabbed three more birdies on holes 11, 12 and 18, closing out the round with a two-under 34 on the back nine.
Joey Mackinac (71) ended the day in a tie for 23rd at -1 overall, tying his career-low round of 71. Mackinac carded two birdies on the front nine on his way to a one-under 35, before collecting two more on the back for an even-par 36.
Henry Johnson (74) carded seven straight pars to begin his round, finishing in a tie for 51st at +2 overall. Johnson grabbed 14 pars on the day to go along with a birdie on hole 10.
Carter White (77) and Andrew Ballou (77) both finished in a tie for 82nd at +5 overall. White started the day with three consecutive birdies and closed out the round with a birdie on hole 18. Ballou carded five straight pars to open his round, then carded five pars to close out the back nine.
The Bison will look to climb the leaderboard on day two of the Badger Invitational tomorrow. Tee times at University Ridge Golf Course will begin at 9 a.m.
