Dunk Leads NDSU Women’s Golf on Day One of Diane Thomason Invitational

PLEASANT VALLEY, Iowa – Hannah Dunk fired rounds of 73 (+2) and 74 (+3) on her way to a tie for seventh, as the North Dakota State women's golf team sits in eighth place after day one of the Diane Thomason Invitational.
Dunk (73-74--147) started hot with three birdies on the front nine in round one, finishing with an even-par 36. She matched the feat in round two, shooting even-par again on the front nine, this time with all pars. She collected 26 pars and three birdies over the 36 holes on the day. Dunk is aiming for her third consecutive top 10 finish after opening the season with seventh and eighth place finishes.
Avery Bartels (80-72--152) fired a one-over 72 in the second round, climbing the leaderboard and finishing in a tie for 25th at +10 overall. Bartels carded an eagle for the third straight tournament, this time on hole 12, a 470-yard par 5. She also collected two birdies on the front nine in round two, shooting an even-par 36.
Norah Roberts (77-79--156) finished in a tie for 39th at +14 overall. She fired a front nine score of 35 in round one, highlighted by birdies on holes 2 and 7. She grabbed 11 pars in round two, including six on the back nine on her way to a 38.
Jeri Lafleche (79-78--157) ended in a tie for 42nd at +15 overall. She birdied hole 3 in round one en route to a front-nine score of 37. She started her second round with six straight pars before a birdie on hole 12.
Belle Kongshaug (79-80--159) finished in a tie for 51st at +17 overall. She carded 20 pars over the first two rounds, including seven on the back nine in round two as she shot a three-over 38.
Emma Fitzmorris (79-76--155) ended the day in a tie for 34th at +13 overall. Competing as an individual, Fitzmorris logged four birdies between the two rounds and finished with a 38 on both nines in round two.
The Bison (308-303--611) compiled rounds of +24 and +19 on the day, 23 strokes behind first-place Iowa (293-295--588). Missouri State (290-299--589) is in second at +21 and Bowling Green (304-290--594) is in third at +26.

The Bison will wrap up the tournament on Tuesday with the final round at Davenport Country Club. Tee times are set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
