Sunderland Family Football Office Complex

The Sunderland Family Football Office Complex was dedicated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony October 13, 2006, in recognition of a $1.5 million gift from NDSU graduates David and Marlys Sunderland toward the Bison football facilities in the Fargodome.

The $3.4 million project completed in September 2006 included new football offices and meeting rooms on the second floor of the Fargodome along with field-level locker rooms, meeting rooms, sports medicine facilities, and the football equipment room.

NDSU's national championship trophies are on display in the reception area of the second floor office complex. The Bison coaching staff enjoys 10 private offices, four open workstations, offensive and defensive staff meeting rooms, a full staff conference room, integrated video technology in each room, plus a kitchenette and staff workroom.

Six additional small meeting rooms are available on field level adjacent to the Bison locker room. Additionally, the NDSU team meeting room provides theater-style seating for more than 100 people and frequently hosts university meetings, presentations and media events.

NDSU's dressing room includes individual wood lockers for more than 100 players, separate coach and staff dressing rooms, and a new players lounge outfitted in 2015 with leather chairs and stools, televisions and gaming equipment.

The Sunderland Family have been fans of the Bison and NDSU since 1964 when David came to the university from Milton, N.D. His wife, Marlys, entered NDSU in 1965 coming from Glendive, Mont., after high school. David and sons, Brad and Derek, run a national investment management firm headquartered in Fargo.
