NDSU Strength and Conditioning
-
The strength and conditioning staff at North Dakota State takes a comprehensive approach to the physical development of the student-athlete. Strength training, speed development, plyometrics, agility and conditioning programs are based on the specific movements and physiological demands of each sport.

In the weight room, we utilize a free-weight approach. Olympic-style weight lifting movements are taught through a progression of exercises to ensure safety and proper technique. The trademark of our program is a hands-on approach, which involves coaching and teaching each athlete on every lift, stride and movement. Just like the athlete is coached on the field, court or mat, he or she is also coached in the weight room.

The goal of the Bison strength and conditioning staff is to assist the student-athlete in reaching his or her full physical potential. This is accomplished through the design and implementation of year-round training programs that increase each student-athlete's level of strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning and flexibility. We utilize periods of training that allow the student-athlete to progress to his or her full potential and peak at the proper time of the competitive season.

The NDSU strength and conditioning program is one of great pride. It is where student-athletes develop a relentless work ethic and the mind-set that we will outwork our opponents in the end.
