Box Score TULSA, Okla. - Freshman Brooklyn Dyce scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give North Dakota State a 2-1 win over Oral Roberts on Friday, Oct. 2. The Bison start Summit League play 1-0 for the first time since joining the league in 2007. It is head coach Pete Cuadrado's 60th career victory. NDSU improves to 4-5-2 overall while Oral Roberts is now 3-6-0 (0-1 Summit).
Junior Candice D'Arcangeli gave the Bison an early lead, scoring in the 11th minute off a pass from Dyce. Golden Eagles goalie Amanda Wheeler came up big midway through the half, making three straight saves on Bison shots. NDSU dominated the first half, outshooting Oral Roberts, 8-2.
Oral Roberts almost leveled the game in the 49th minute when Tara Lomas' shot hit the crossbar. Natalya Manyan scored the tying goal in the 82nd minute. D'Arcangeli had a shot go wide in the last minute and a Bison corner amounted to nothing as the clock hit zero and the match went to overtime.
Less than a minute into the first overtime period, Dyce put in the game-winning goal. She has now scored three goals and tallied one assist in the last two games for the Bison.
Sophomore Kalani Bertsch made two saves in the victory.
It was the second straight meeting between NDSU and Oral Roberts that went to overtime. The Bison avenged last season's 3-2 double overtime loss in Fargo.
NDSU now travels to Shreveport, La. for a Summit League game against Centenary on Sunday, Oct. 4 at noon.
