Box Score BROOKINGS, S.D. ? The North Dakota State soccer team dropped a close 1-0 contest to IUPUI in the Summit League tournament semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6. The Bison finished the season with a 10-8-2 record. IUPUI will play South Dakota State on Sunday in the championship game.
The Bison tallied five shots early on, but couldn't find the back of the net. IUPUI took a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute when Megan Hock put a shot into the upper right corner off a counterattack.
Shots on goal were even at halftime with two apiece.
The Bison put the pressure on the Jaguar defense immediately in the second half, recording five shots in the first 15 minutes of the half. The team's best chance came in the 79th minute when senior Lorraine Thompson's shot was cleared off the goal line. Despite a continued push for an equalizer, the Bison could not get one past the IUPUI defense before time expired.
The Bison outshot IUPUI, 21-8, in the game. Thompson, junior Quin Ryan and sophomore Danielle Boldenow all tallied four shots in the game. Thompson led the team with two shots on goal.
Sophomore goalie Kalani Bertsch made two saves in the loss.
