Missouri State Edges #17 North Dakota State 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Austin Witmer's 22-yard field goal in the third quarter lifted Missouri State to a 3-0 victory over 17th-ranked North Dakota State in a Missouri Valley Football Conference game played on a windy Saturday, Nov. 20, before 4,837 fans at Plaster Field.

North Dakota State finishes the regular season 7-4 overall and 4-4 in conference play, while Missouri State is 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The NCAA Division I FCS Playoff selection show is only on ESPNU at 9-9:30 a.m. (Central) Sunday, Nov. 21. The complete bracket will be available after the selection show at NCAA.com.

The Bison, which used three quarterbacks in the game, converted on only 1 of 12 third downs in the game and had 120 yards of total offense. Antoine Wilkinson led the Bears defense with nine tackles.

The last time NDSU was shutout was Nov. 19, 2005, when the Bison lost 9-0 at Southern Illinois.

Missouri State had 334 yards of total offense. Chris Douglas rushed 19 times for 122 yards.

Free safety Daniel Eaves and strong safety Colten Heagle each finished with a career-high 13 tackles.

Punter John Prelvitz punted a career-high nine times for an average of 44.3 yards per kick. He reeled off a career-high 80-yard, two yards off the school record.
