Box Score DES MOINES, Iowa - The North Dakota State women's soccer team answered a late Drake goal with a goal of its own to force overtime, but the Bison ultimately dropped a 2-1 decision on Sunday afternoon at the Cownie Soccer Complex.
After Ashlie Stokes put Drake up 1-0 with a header in the 74th minute, NDSU sophomore Anisha Kinnarath responded immediately. Kinnarath fired a shot from the top of the box to beat Drake goalkeeper Kalena Litch, tying the match at 1-1 in the 75th minute.
The Bison (1-4-0) were able to force overtime, but Drake's Laura Moklestad knocked a shot past NDSU goalkeeper Sierra Bonham in the 96th minute to seal the contest. Drake improved to 4-2-0 with the victory.
Bonham racked up 11 saves in the match, as Drake outshot NDSU by a 24-4 margin.
Kinnarath recorded all four of NDSU's shots on the afternoon, placing all four on goal.
NDSU will play its first home match of the season on Fri., Sept. 7, at the Ellig Sports Complex. Start time against Bemidji State is set for 4 p.m.
