Scene Setter
The North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team (5-4, 2-0 Summit) returns home to host Summit League preseason favorite Denver on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. at Dacotah Field. NDSU travels north to take on North Dakota on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m., with that game played at East Grand Forks (Minn.) High School.

The Series with Denver
NDSU is 1-5-1 all-time against the Pioneers, with Denver winning both meetings last season -- 3-0 in Denver on Oct. 1, and 2-1 in Fargo in the Summit League Tournament championship game. NDSU's lone victory in the series was a 4-3 double-overtime victory at Denver on Oct. 9, 2015.

The Series with North Dakota
NDSU owns a 7-5-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Fighting Hawks, with Sunday's match being the first encounter as Summit League opponents. UND won 1-0 in Fargo on Aug. 18 last season, but the Bison won three straight from 2014-16 including a 4-1 victory in the last meeting in Grand Forks.

North Dakota State Notes
  • In seven matches all-time against Denver (1-5-1), NDSU's two results have both come in the past three years -- a 4-3 double-overtime victory at Denver in 2015, and a scoreless draw in Fargo in 2016.
  • NDSU's five goals at Purdue Fort Wayne on Sept. 30 were its most in a Summit League match since a 5-0 victory over the Mastodons on Oct. 23, 2016.
  • Senior Mallory Fenske and freshman Sydney Johnson both recorded a pair of assists in NDSU's 5-1 win over the Mastodons on Sept. 30.
  • NDSU senior defender Hanna Norman was named The Summit League's Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1. Norman scored two goals, including the game-winner at Western Illinois, as the Bison allowed only one goal in 194 minutes of action.

  • Senior midfielder Roxy Roemer leads the Bison with five assists this season, adding one on a corner kick for NDSU's game-winner in double overtime at Western Illinois on Sept. 28.
  • Junior goalkeeper Monica Polgar ranks fifth in NDSU history with 22 career wins. Her next victory will tie Monica Morgan (2006-07) for fourth all-time at NDSU.
