South Dakota Downs NDSU Soccer 3-0

VERMILLION, S.D. - South Dakota scored three goals in the second half Thursday night, as the Coyotes beat the North Dakota State soccer team 3-0.

The loss dropped NDSU to 6-7 on the year, while the Coyotes improved to 6-6-1. With the win, South Dakota moved in front of NDSU in the Summit League standings, taking over the fourth and final spot in the Summit League Championship with three matches remaining for both teams. The two teams will face each other again on Saturday, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

Off an assist from Shaylee Gailus, Jordan Centineo put the Coyotes ahead 1-0 in the 50th minute. In the 66th minute, Tiannah Moore found Alexis Mitchell for a goal. The final goal came from Mitchell, as she scored in the 81st minute off an assist from Abby Ostrem.

Alicia Nead, McKenna Strand, Brookelyn Dew and Kelsey Kallio each had a shot on goal for the Bison. Kallio and Jess Hanley led the Bison with two shots. The Coyotes held a 25-7 advantage in shots, including 19-3 in the second half. Aly Cole recorded six saves in the net, as she dropped to 4-5 on the year.
