FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State wrestling fell to No. 10 Minnesota 39-0 Friday night at the Scheels Center, as the Golden Gophers ran the table with five bonus-point decisions.
The Bison were held scoreless for the first time since 2009 and just the fourth time in the Division I era. The last shutout came in a 42-0 loss to No. 21 Oregon State on December 13, 2009.
NDSU gave up a pair of decisions to start the dual, but
Kyle Burwick nearly had a win at 133 pounds as time expired while Burwick was trying to finish a landed shot, falling with a 3-2 defeat to #8 Tyler Wells.

Gavin Drexler would also finish with a narrow defeat against #22 Drew Roberts at 149 pounds. Drexler secured a late takedown and then finished another takedown after time expired, falling 8-6.
Minnesota secured four bonus-point victories in the final five matches, including three-straight tech falls to end the dual. #1 Gable Steveson capped off the dual at heavyweight with an 18-3 tech fall in 1:50 in his collegiate return.
NDSU set a wrestling attendance record in the Scheels Center, with 1,529 in attendance, breaking the previous mark of 1,511 against #3 Oklahoma State on November 26, 2017.
The Bison will be off for three weeks, before returning against #12 Iowa State in Humboldt, Iowa on December 15.
