HENDERSON, Nev. – The North Dakota State women's golf team concluded their fall portion of the season with a fifth-place finish at the Clash at Boulder Creek on Tuesday afternoon at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Hannah Dunk (71-72-74--217) and
Madi Hicks (71-70-76--217) tied for the position of top placing Bison for the tournament. Dunk matched her NDSU career-low 54-hole score of 217 (+1) after firing five birdies and seven holes at par in the final round to finish +2 on the day. Hicks improved her season-low 54-hole score of 217 by nine strokes after adding two birdies in the third round to finish +4 on the day. Both Dunk and Hicks finished +1 overall in a tie for 22nd place of 108 golfers.
Norah Roberts (72-74-74--220) scored in all three rounds for NDSU. Roberts shot three birdies and 11 holes at par to finish +2 in the final round and climbed four spots up the leaderboard to land in a tie for 38th place at +4 overall.
Cora Larson (71-78-76--225) improved her round two score by two strokes to claim the final scoring round for the Bison on day two. Larson led the Bison squad with 37 holes at par for the event, after carding 13 in the final round, to finish +4 on the day and +9 overall in a tie for 62nd place.
Avery Bartels (77-70-82--229) and
Jeri Lafleche (78-70-78--226) wrap up the Bison lineup for the event. Bartels carded her first eagle of the season on the 16th hole to finish +10 in the final round and +13 overall in a tie for 79th place. Lafleche, who played as an individual, fired a career-low 54-hole score of 226 (+10), improving her previous best by 18 strokes. The freshman added two birdies in the final round to finish +6 on the day and +10 overall in a tie for 65th place.
The Bison (285-286-300--871) finished +12 in the final round to end in a tie for fifth with Grand Canyon (302-277-292--871) at +7 overall. Northern Arizona (283-277-280--840) claimed their home tournament title by four shots at -24 overall, with runner-up New Mexico State (286-277-281--844) finishing -20 overall and CSU Northridge (287-289-289--865) claiming third at +1.
NDSU will return to action in February for the spring portion of the 2025-26 season in San Jacinto, California at the Soboba Springs Classic. Hosted by UC Riverside, the tournament will take place at the Soboba Casino Resort on February 4-6.
