NDSU Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Summit League Championship

MESA, Ariz. – Jeri Lafleche led the North Dakota State women's golf team in the final day of the Summit League Championship to help secure an individual and team fourth-place finish at Longbow Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Lafleche (76-72-72—220) posted a second consecutive round of +1 to lead the way for the Bison on the final day. The freshman was even through 13 holes with a birdie on holes five and 18 to finish +7 overall in fourth place.
Madi Hicks (72-75-74—221) ended just one shot back from Lafleche to land inside the top five. Hicks carded a team-high 15 pars for the round, with a birdie on hole four, to finish +3 for the final round. Hicks landed in a tie for fifth at +8, marking her third top 10 finish at the Summit League Championship. Both Hicks and Lafleche earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Avery Bartels (78-78-74—230) concluded with her best round of the tournament. Bartels added two more birdies in the final round with 11 holes at par to finish +3 on the day, a four-stroke improvement from the previous two rounds. Bartels finished in a tie for 24th at +17 overall.
Cora Larson (77-78-76—231) also carded her best round of the event to finish one stroke behind Bartels. Larson logged 14 holes at par in the final round to end +5 on the day, and +18 overall in 26th place.
Hannah Dunk (74-73) recorded the final scoring round for the Bison. Dunk finished -1 in the back nine after firing three birdies and four holes at par to land +2 on the day, and +5 through the 36-holes she competed.
Overall, NDSU (303-299-293—895) fired their best team round of the tournament to secure their fourth-place finish. The Bison were +9 on the day and finished +43 to reach their second consecutive top five finish at the Summit League Championship. South Dakota State (298-286-298—882) took home the team title at +30, with their own McKenzie Mages (73-68-71—212) taking the individual title at -1 overall.
