NDSU Men’s Golf Wraps Second Day of Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The North Dakota State men's golf team wrapped up day two of the Badger Invitational in 14th place on Monday afternoon at University Ridge Golf Course.
Peyton Albers (68-75) closed out the round in a tie for 21st at -1 overall for the tournament. Albers birdied holes 1 and 2 to start the day, then tacked on two more birdies on holes 6 and 7. He played the final six holes at one-under, with five pars and a birdie on hole 14.
Joey Mackinac (71-77) sits in a tie for 57th at +4 overall. Mackinac closed his round by firing three birdies over his last five holes, bringing him to a total of seven birdies on the tournament.
Andrew Ballou (77-72) bounced back with an even-par 72 in round two, ending the day in a tie for 64th at +5 overall. Ballou carded the Bison's first eagle of the tournament on hole 11, a 569-yard par 5. He birdied two of the next five holes as well, closing the back nine with a 34. Ballou jumped 19 spots on the leaderboard in round two.
Carter White (77-73) ended the day in a tie for 67th at +6 overall. White grabbed seven pars and a birdie on the front nine for an even-par 36, before birding both par 3s on the back nine. White moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard from the first round.
Henry Johnson (74-77) rounded out the day for NDSU, finishing in a tie for 74th at +7 overall. He matched White by birding both of the back-nine par-3s and added a birdie on hole 11 as well.
The Bison (290-297) shot nine over as a team, 23 strokes behind first-place Southern Miss (281-283). Western Kentucky (280-286) and South Dakota State (287-279) are tied for second place at ten under.
The Bison will conclude the Badger Invitational on Tuesday with the final round of the tournament. Tee times at University Ridge Golf Course are set to begin at 9 a.m.
