Jake Otten joined the North Dakota State University football staff as video coordinator in March 2014 managing a staff of student workers responsible for the team's video from games and practices.

Otten was elevated to director of football operations under new head coach Matt Entz for five months before resigning in May 2019 to accept a position at another university.

Otten interned with the Oakland Raiders in 2009 before spending five seasons as video coordinator at Cal Poly from 2009 to 2013.

He graduated from Cal Poly in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
