Joey Blackmore joined the North Dakota State football staff as the defensive assistant in 2014 after working with the Bison as an undergraduate student assistant.
Blackmore assists with the defensive backs and is the offensive scout team coordinator. He also has responsibilities in recruiting, defensive film breakdown, and punt and kickoff teams.
A former walk-on to the Bison program out of Albany (Minn.) High School, Blackmore appeared in two games as a sophomore in 2011 but had his playing career cut short by a pair of knee injuries.
Blackmore graduated from NDSU in May 2014 with a double major in social science education and physical education. He is pursuing a master's degree in Leadership in Physical Education and Sport at NDSU.
