Eric Perkins was a full-time assistant strength and conditioning coach at North Dakota State University from May 2019 to May 2022. A former NDSU football player, Perkins climbed the ranks of the Bison strength and conditioning program over his five years in the department, including one year as an intern and one as a graduate assistant.
Working alongside longtime NDSU football strength and conditioning coach Jim Kramer, Perkins was involved in all aspects of football-specific training including strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning, injury prevention, flexibility and nutrition counseling. He also implemented a sport-specific training program for the javelin throwers on the Bison track and field team.
Perkins was a wide receiver and return specialist for the Bison from 2012 to 2016 and was part of five Missouri Valley Football Conference championships and four FCS national titles as a player. He appeared in 52 career games and is among the top 10 in school history for punt returns and kick returns.
He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and held internships at Minnesota State University Moorhead and Dynasty Performance Training before joining the NDSU staff.
A native of Kewauskum, Wis., Perkins graduated from NDSU in December 2016 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and completed a master's degree in nutrition and exercise science at NDSU in 2020.
