Enthusiasm, innovation and hard work were the cornerstones to Lynn Dorn’s remarkable 38-year record at NDSU...Bison women’s teams won seven NCAA national championships, 62 North Central Conference titles, 37 Summit League championships and nine conference all-sports trophies, including the Summit League Dr. Helen Smiley Women’s All-Sports Award four straight years from 2010 to 2013...NDSU had three Honda Broderick Award winners as Division II Most Outstanding Female Athlete and five NCC Stan Marshall Award winners...There were 139 All-Americans in six women’s sports, 35 women selected for 54 CoSIDA Academic All-America awards, and 18 NCAA postgraduate scholarship winners...One of seven administrators of the year in 2002 by the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators...Named Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Administrator of the Year in 1997 and one of the five most influential people in Division II athletics by College Sports magazine in 1995...Served on many national committees, including the NCAA Constitution and Bylaws Committee, Voting Committee, Women’s Basketball Rules Committee, Executive Committee and Division II Management Council...Served as Division II Vice-President from 1995 to 1998...Graduated in 1972 from Bemidji State University, where she played basketball, field hockey, golf, tennis and volleyball at BSU and was inducted into the BSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994...Physical education teacher and varsity basketball and track coach at Crookston High School (Minn.) for three years before attending the University of Minnesota for a master’s degree in physical education and athletics administration.
