Katelyn Weimerskirch both established new school records for NDSU women's outdoor track and field Saturday, April 19, in California.
The relay team of
Paige Stratioti,
Morgan Milbrath,
Antoinette Goodman and
Ashley Tingelstad placed fifth in the 'Elite' division of the 4X400m relay at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., finishing with a new school and Summit League record time of 3:34.84. The time is the 14th-best in the nation this season.
Stratioti, Milbrath, Goodman and Tingelstad finished ahead of Houston, Iowa, the Nigerian 'A' national team, Central Florida, Alabama, Loyola and Colorado with their record-breaking time.
Weimerskirch placed fourth and broke the NDSU discus record for the fourth time in a month at the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif., recording a record distance of 171 feet, 6 inches that leads The Summit League and ranks 30th in the nation.
Ashley Heinze won the 400m hurdles at the Beach Invitational with a time of 58.90, the second-fastest time in NDSU women's outdoor history and a top-30 time in the country this season.
The women's 4X100m relay team consisting of
Rose Jackson, Milbrath, Tingelstad and Goodman also had a strong performance Saturday, finishing seventh with a time of 45.21 at the Mt. SAC Relays. The time ranks third-best in NDSU history and second-best in The Summit League this season.
The Bison women return to action April 23-26 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
