ResultsFARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team took part in its last meet before hosting the Summit League Outdoor Championships next week, winning 11 events at the NDSU Tune-Up on Friday, May 9, at Schlanser Track.
Bison redshirt freshman
Katelyn Weimerskirch broke her own school record in the discus with a toss of 172-10 (52.68m). It was the fifth time this season that Weimerskirch surpassed the previous school record, and she now ranks 39th in the nation in the event.
Freshman
Jordyn Thornton moved to No. 4 on the NDSU all-time performance list in the discus, throwing a personal-best 152-11 (46.62m).
The NDSU women swept the titles in all running events between 200 meters and 1500 meters. Senior sprinter
Ashley Tingelstad clocked a personal-best 23.85 in winning the 200m to improve her time that ranks second in school history. Sophomore
Erin Teschuk won the 1500m in 4:27.47, which also puts her at No. 2 on the NDSU all-time list and leads The Summit League this season.
Junior
Paige Stratioti won the 400m in 54.24, and redshirt freshman
Amy Andrushko won the 800m in 2:11.84.
Ashlynn Simon ran a season-best 2:12.27 for a runner-up finish in the 800m.
NDSU sophomore
Brittany Stangl matched her PR in the pole vault, tying for fourth in NDSU history at 12-06.25 (3.82m).
Rose Jackson and
Allie Lahren swept the horizontal jumps titles for the Bison. Jackson jumped 19-02.00 (5.84m) in the long jump, and Lahren posted a winning mark of 37-03.75 (11.37m) in the triple jump.
Competing unattached,
Emily Lesser won the shot put (45-11.25) and hammer throw (187-5), and
Melissa Kitching won the 400m hurdles (1:01.20).
Freshman thrower
Courtney Pasiowitz used a one-foot improvement in the shot put to move to No. 4 in The Summit League this season at 45-07.75 (13.91m).
NDSU will host the Summit League Outdoor Championships in Fargo from May 15-17.
