Rose Jackson posted one of the top 200m times in NDSU history to cap her first day of heptathlon competition at the USA Junior Combined Events Championships on Wednesday, June 25. Jackson clocked 24.08 seconds in the 200m for the best time in the field and the No. 5 spot on NDSU's all-time list.
Jackson stands in eighth place in the heptathlon standings with 2,906 points – the second-highest first-day point total of her career.
The Willmar, Minn., native opened the day with a personal-best time of 15.15 seconds in the 100m hurdles. She cleared 4-10.25 (1.48m) in the high jump and threw 31-11.25 (9.73m) in the shot put before her breakout performance in the 200m dash.
Jackson now ranks fifth in NDSU history in the 200m, with fellow freshman
Morgan Milbrath ranking sixth on the list. Outside of Jackson, each of the top eight 200m performers in school history earned All-America honors by the end of their respective careers.
Jackson will conclude heptathlon competition with the long jump, javelin and 800m on Thursday, and former Bison Amanda Smock will attempt to win her third USA outdoor title in the triple jump.
