NDSU Women’s Golf Adds Three on Signing Day

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State women's golf head coach Matt Johnson has announced the addition of three student-athletes on signing day.

Lauren Chambs, Emma Fitzmorris and Belle Kongshaug are set to join the Bison in the fall of 2026.

"We have three hard working and motivated regional athletes coming to Fargo in the fall," said Johnson. "Belle, Emma, and Lauren are all exceptional talents who are all excited to join the Bison and they will be excellent fits for our program. I'm really looking forward to getting them on campus next fall."

Chambs was a four-year letterwinner at Wayzata High School and posted a 74.8 scoring average in her junior season. The Plymouth, Minn., native was a four-time All-Conference and two-time All-State selection. Chambs also posted a sixth placed finish at the Minnesota State AAA High School Tournament in 2025.

"Lauren is a well-rounded golfer who has really worked hard to elevate her game the last few years," said Johnson. "She has shown an impressive ability to compete with the very best in her home state of Minnesota and has also competed well at many regional and national tournaments. She is really looking forward to being a Bison and we are happy to have her commitment."

Fitzmorris was a two-time letterwinner at Hill-Murray High School and notched a 76.2 scoring average last spring. The Stillwater, Minn., native was a two-time All-Conference selection and earned a spot on the All-Conference Honorable Mention list in 2022. Fitzmorris also helped guide her team to a state championship appearance and co-conference championship in 2024.

"Emma is also a Minnesota golfer who has been competing in high level national tournaments the last couple years and has posted numerous under par rounds in those tournaments," said Johnson. "She loves to compete and doesn't back down from a challenge. Emma has a balanced game and has the potential to continue to grow in all areas, which makes for an exciting future."

Kongshaug was a four-year letterwinner at Elk Mound High School and posted a 72.6 scoring average. The Elk Mound, Wis., native was four-time Conference Player of the Year and earned All-State First Team honors in her junior and senior seasons. Kongshaug was a three-time WIAA State Champion in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She also played basketball and was named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention list in her junior season.

"Belle is a multiple year individual state champion in Wisconsin and brings an exciting future to NDSU," said Johnson. "She is an excellent all-around athlete and has strong potential to continue growing her game and I look for her to become a very good college player."

NDSU will be back in action to open its spring schedule on Feb. 4-6 at the Soboba Springs Classic in San Jacinto, Calif.
