GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota State soccer fell to North Dakota 4-0 Thursday afternoon at Bronson Field to open up the Summit League schedule.

The Bison outshot North Dakota 19-14, including 7-5 in shots on goal. The Bison also hit the post three times in the game, but were unable to find a breakthrough.

North Dakota took the lead in the 33^rd minute on a free kick from just outside the penalty area. The hosts would add a goal in the 54^th minute and then the 72^nd minute, before capping the scoring with a penalty in the 82^nd minute.

Morgan Russmann led the Bison with seven shots, forcing three saves and hitting the post twice. Hannah Arnold forced two saves along with Gabrielle Garrett and Ava Stanchina forcing a save each. Isabel Garcia also hit the post.

North Dakota State will look to bounce back on Sunday, as the Bison host South Dakota in the first league game at Dacotah Field this season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. against the Coyotes.
