Jake Nystrom was named a volunteer assistant coach at North Dakota State in May of 2024 and will primarily focus on data and statistics to help provide additional insight into the mental approach in the game of golf. 

Nystrom earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science/health information management in 2013 from College of St. Scholastica. He played four seasons on the baseball team and was named the UMAC Pitcher of the Year and earned All-Region honors. The Fargo, N.D., native was also selected as the team caption in his senior season.

Nystrom and his wife, Ellen, have one son, Cooper.
