All-North Central Conference, NDSU captain, and Dennis Drews team MVP winner in 1964 … Played under legendary head coach Darrell Mudra … Gained 407 yards on 127 carries in leading NDSU to 9-1 regular season record and 14-13 win over Western State in the 1964 Mineral Bowl … Bison went 5-1 in a three-way tie for first in the North Central Conference … Second on the team in scoring eight touchdowns in 1964 … Also caught 11 passes for 84 yards and one TD … Averaged 23 yards on eight kickoff returns and 7.3 yards on three punt returns ... Averaged 37.1 yards on 12 punts ... High School from 1970-80 … Moorhead voted 1971 state champions by Minnesota press … Joined the family business as part-owner with his two brothers, Sturdevant Auto Parts in Wahpeton, N.D., in 1980, and retired in 2007 … He and his wife Barbara, have three children, Nan Fort, Tucker Sturdevant and Betsy Boyle, and seven grandchildren … His brother, Terry Sturdevant, his teammate at NDSU, played fullback and linebacker … His nephew, Travis Sturdevant, played safety for the Bison from 1997-2001 … His grandson, Tre Fort, is currently a cornerback for North Dakota State.
