OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State baseball team totaled a season-high 16 hits in the 13-6 win at Creighton in front of 10,015 fans for the annual Kids Day Game at Charles Schwab Field.

After the two teams worked through three scoreless innings, the Bison (9-26, 5-10 Summit) erupted with four runs on five hits in the fourth inning capped off by an RBI single off from Dante Smith to make the score 4-0. Creighton (25-17, 10-2 Big East), who entered the week in first place in the Big East, answered to cut the deficit in half, 4-2, in the fifth with two runs following an RBI single from Nick Venteicher and an RBI fielder's choice from Nate McHugh.

Smith added another RBI single in the sixth for the Bison before Creighton pushed across two more runs with a two-run single off the bat of Rocco Gump to pull within one, 5-4. The Bison then cracked the game open in the seventh with the help of a three-run double from Tyman Long and a two RBI single from Caleb Corbin to extend the advantage to 10-4. NDSU kept the pressure on in eighth adding three more runs with a two RBI triple from Kaden Connor and an RBI single off the bat of Cal Jones to increase the edge to 13-4. The Bison went on to close out the 13-6 victory.

The Bison totaled a season-high 16 hits with five different players logging multiple hits. Long went 2-of-5 at the plate with two doubles, two runs and four RBI. Corbin also contributed two hits in four appearances with three RBI.

Garrett Shupe (1-1) earned the win with two strikeouts, one walk and one hit over 3.0 innings. Braden Gluth added in three strikeouts with one walk over 2.0 innings.

NDSU will be back in action hosting South Dakota State on Friday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
